About ISTQB and the certified tester scheme

Angelina represents both TSG and the ISTQB exceptionally well. I am traditionally a sceptic to courses, but in 3 days I have changed that bias – primarily from the depth of knowledge Angelina imparted during the course. Not only is the course material covered comprehensively, but she delivers it in an interactive way that relates back to our own working environments. Modern testing practise may mean different things to different companies / testers, and it is clear Angelina has experience across the whole testing realm, including the real-world team dynamics which make/break the process. Three days remote could be tough work for most trainees, but the continuous flow of new information, delivered in bitesize chunks kept the momentum / enthusiasm working in the team. I feel this is not an easy task to achieve – and this presents additional value that I have not experienced on other courses / other tutors. As a final note, I feel Angelina is genuinely passionate about testing, and is therefore open to healthy debate on the topic (from challenging students like myself). For those reasons : “Excellent” rating above.

Very good course. Was kept interested throughout the course.

John was engaging and patient. While I know this slightly frustrated one of my colleagues who had no problem keeping up, I could tell that others really appreciated it, as he would make any confusing rationale clear.

Informative with good course material and exam questions. The syllabus is particularly helpful for revision. The course was quite intense at times and could have benefited from being spread out over more days – although perhaps I only felt like this as I completed the Foundation course and Agile course within the same week.

Really interesting and interactive course. Angelina never made anyone feel silly if they got an answer incorrect, and I never felt shy to speak up or ask a question.
The only thing I would say is the Day 3 material can feel a bit stale compared to all the technique stuff on Day 2. So perhaps with Day 3 there can be more interactive bits like case studies or breakout rooms to work in.

I think that the flow and progress of the lessons great and was explained in a lot more details comparing to the official ISTQB documentation. I love how we go through the sample exam and also have a homework which helps me to remember what i’ve learned the previous lessons.
The lecturer tries her best to relate topics in a personal level.

Very good trainer. Explained whenever I was confused and took time to show how we got to the answers

I’m very pleased with the course itself and the materials provided, including the ability to access an exam simulator. In terms of the delivery of the actual training, it felt like at some points Angelina was surprised by the material she was teaching us and seemed to spend some times quietly reading by herself without sharing her thoughts – this was a little strange as I was expecting her to be a bit more familiar and prepared with the training material. I also observed at some points that she would rapidly click through slides with no real explanation, or reassurance that we would come back to that slide later, but this was a little jarring and initially frustrating until I realized that we have access to those slides as part of our learning packs so I could read them at my leisure 🙂

The course was well structured, and the instructor, Ms Angelina was really outstanding, she did a good work explaining all the concepts, my suggestion would be instead of 3 days, 4 days course would help for this course by getting little bit time to sink the concepts in,

It was well delivered and informative.

Karen was very engaging and knew her stuff.

I learnt a lot from the course

Course covers good foundational base and offers greater understanding of test techniques in all software development life cycles. Slides didnt always match between the ones we have access too and Karen’s. Test tools is a bit redundant now.

Karen was great! friendly, welcoming and very easy to understand. Explained things well and really took the time to listen and open up the call to other input.
